I'm determined. It's going to be a better day today.
Not that I want to re-live it, but here is a rundown on the day:
Olivia was having withdrawals from coming down on some of her sedation medication. It was very hard to watch. Her eyes were going a mile a minute, she kept doing strange things with her tongue, she was extremely agitated, she ended up biting both sides of her cheeks which caused her to bleed like crazy, and she just looked plain awful. She ended up spiking a temp of 106.7 (no, that's not a typo). Her heart rate was up to 200 beats per minute (from 90 in the morning), her blood pressure was up and her sats were sitting in the low 80's. This went on for about 4 hours. As everyone was trying to figure out what was going on, her heart rate flipped back to 90. So, they ordered an EKG, and an Echo later in the evening. It was determined that she had been in SVT (Supraventricular Tachycardia). Her atria were pumping like crazy, and her ventricles were pumping just as fast, so there was no time for her heart to fill up. The SVT was most likely caused by the high fever. By last night, she had been put back on a paralytic drip, epinephrine, vasopressin, dopamine, an insulin drip, and back up on all the sedation medications. So, two steps forward and about 18 steps back.
This morning, she is doing much better. Her numbers are great and they are going to just start over by just weaning things back down/off.
As for the house...we made our offer (asking for some upgrades and credits for things) and they counter-offered at asking price (with the upgrades and credits). We counter-offered again and they said they could take nothing less than asking price. Who pays asking price for a house these days? Granted, we did ask for a few things, but they could have at least come down $100 or so. Anyway, we haven't decided what to do next.
Today is a new day (Thank God for that) and today is going to be a better day (do you think it sounds like I'm trying to convince myself, or what?)

Julie, I am sorry you had such a rough day. I pray that everything goes well with Olivia today and that the house situation works itself out. Hang in there, You are a remarkable mother and woman!!!
I'm sorry it was such a bad day. It's frustrating to read about the constant backwards slide, & even more frustrating to live it.
House hunting stinks! All sellers think their house is immune to the downturn & it may take a while for them to realize that. But yeah, no one pays full price for a house these days...
Oh poor Olivia! I can't imagine how hard all of that was to watch. I am definitely praying that today is much, much better for her.
How disappointing about the house!! I'm praying Proverbs 3:5&6 for you about this...."that He will direct your steps."
Okay, could the house people just give a little? Come on, asking price? I thought this was a recession and everyone was having trouble selling their properties. Guess not in good 'ole Dunlap :-) I know today will be better for you and Livvy. Maybe she was just really frustrated at the house people too? She's your girl, and she's siding with you. Here's to a better day.

I hope today's a better day, sweetheart! I'll be praying.

People always think their house is worth more than it is. I'm sure you made a decent offer but if they just put it on the market then it might take them a while to realize they are over estimating what they can get. I'm sure this all fits into His plan but when we are in the moment...well it's just plain frustrating! It's sad to hear Miss Livvy is proving to live up to her reputation as a difficult and puzzling patient. We are praying for patience and strength for all of you.
And to think God isn't pacing the floor of heaven worrying about any of this! You hold to your guns on that house, Julie! You, the buyer, are in the pilot's seat and can help the sellers to realize that the asking price is simply that, ASKING price, not TELLING price! Goodness! I hope your day with Olivia is less frustrating and the rollercoaster numbers move to a simple merry-go-round level. We love you guys. Diny
